One key per tool, one gesture per action.
One hand on the keyboard, the other on the mouse. The keys switch tools; the click, the drag and the modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) set what the tool does.

What each gesture does, tool by tool
Mark V / I

| Ctrl + click on a mark | Flips the class |

| Drag a handle | Moves the vertex; the neighboring vertices follow (Shift: only that one) |
| Click on the edge | Creates a vertex there and starts dragging right away |
| Double-click or Ctrl + click on a handle | Removes the vertex |
| Drag from inside | Shaves: the edge pulls back along the path of least effort |
| Shift + drag from outside | Adds: the edge extends out to the stroke |
